Design & Story
Across many Asian cultures, red envelopes are given during Lunar New Year as a symbol of protection, prosperity and good wishes for the year ahead. But more than that, they mark a moment in life when you go from receiving luck to passing it on.
Red pockets symbolise protection, prosperity and well wishes for the year ahead, but they also represent something less spoken about. Care. Responsibility. The quiet understanding that each generation looks after the next.
Lucky and Passing It On reimagines this tradition through bold, minimal typography and clean placement, turning a familiar ritual into a modern statement piece. Something that marks a shift in role, from being looked after to becoming the one who looks after others.
Part of the LNY Traditions collection, this piece celebrates the act of giving, the idea of passing things forward and the traditions that connect generations, one red pocket at a time.
